A Task, Milestone or Summary that has "NA" in the Baseline Start or Baseline Finish field in Microsoft Project.
Why does it matter if items in the project have No Baseline?
Baseline dates in a schedule are useful for comparing current schedule dates, durations, resource assignment information to original (baseline) values. Baseline values enable cumulative schedule variance analysis.
Resolving No Baseline
Perform the Audit and Click on each item in the resulting tasks list to go to the offending task. You can also click Filter for Items Below to display tasks with audit issues and record the offending condition in the Integrity Note log field.
Set a baseline in project 2003 - 2007 by selecting Tracking from the Tools menu and selecting Save Baseline or by selecting Set Baseline from the Project ribbon's Schedule group in Project 2010-2013. You can set the baseline for selected tasks or the entire project.
What Else to Consider
Baseline values in a project are used for other SSI Audits and reports. The Audits named Start or Finish Late to Baseline, for example, can only be performed on tasks that include baseline values. The SSI Analysis Tool set includes a report named Program Performance Rate Report which relies on baseline data for its analysis.
